Rooms are renovated with high-quality design and fit-out, and bathrooms are well-equipped. The buffet breakfast offers a wide variety, with staff like Steven and Terese receiving praise. On-site dining at Citrique and Chapter & Verse Bar and Lounge provides quality food and cocktails. However, some reviews noted occasional slow dining service, particularly during events. Bed and pillow comfort were criticized, and some guests felt the activities for children were insufficient. Misono Japanese restaurant was considered poor value for money. JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa is strongest as a self-contained family resort, centered on its large saltwater pool area, slides and child-friendly activities. Guests also repeatedly praise the spacious rooms, generally attentive staff, breakfast and convenient light-rail access. Trade-offs include no direct ocean beach, busy breakfast periods, variable room allocation and occasional maintenance or billing issues.
